I hope you enjoyed Ueda city, though if there were more to see, I could have shown you around more. You’ll be visiting many towns from now, and I would be very happy if you get to talk to many people and absorb many things. Let’s sing together again when you are back in Japan!

ワールドキャンパス参加者およびスタッフの皆さん大変ご無沙汰しております。私は上田市でホストファミリーとして元気をもらった竹花です。無事プログラムが終了したこと有紀から聞きました。大変ご苦労さまでした。その後はそれぞれの場所で活躍されていることと推測いたします。メンバーの皆さん元気でいましたか？。私はその後姉妹都市であるコロラド州の子供達をホストしました。本当に忙しい2008夏でしたが充実した日々を過ごすことができました。それは君たちメンバーが向上的であること、日本を真剣に知ろうとしたこと日本文化を受け入れたことそれにつきると思います。君たちには短い時間だったと思いますが中身が濃い成果がある日本滞在だったと確信しています。どうかこの滞在が君たちの人生を左右するターニングポイントになることを願っています。優柔不断で決断力がない日本イメージもあるでしょうが日本の良さをどうか君たちの周りにも伝えてください。私達ホストは世界の架け橋となるべく無償の愛で尽くしています。機会がありましたら日本に再来してくれること切に願っております。君たちメンバーが大成することを祈念し一ホストファミリーの祈願の言葉とします。世界が皆幸せでありますように。
Sorry for not having kept in touch with WCI members till now. My name is Takehana, and I received much pleasure and energy as a host family in Ueda city. I heard from Yuki that the program ended successfully. Great job everybody! I’m guessing that each of you are now active in your own areas, but are all of the members doing well? I hosted some children from our sister city, Colorado. Our summer has been quite busy but also very fulfilling. I think that was all because you members were constantly and seriously engaged in learning about Japan and accepting the Japanese culture. Although it was a short stay in japan, I am confident that it was packed and fruitful. I would love for this stay to become a turning point in your lives. There may be a preconception of Japan being very indecisive, but please do also communicate to the people around you, the great things about Japan. As hosts, we devote ourselves to you and give out our love as a bridge to the world. Whenever there is an opportunity again, we would love for you to revisit Japan. We hope for you members to attain greatness, and pray for the happiness of everyone in this world.
